General contracting services for the construction of an 84,200 sf, three-story steel frame building housing 11 sound stages, several smaller editing bays, three data storage rooms and offices for staff. Three of the stages are additional dialogue recording (ADR) stages that involve up to three layers of isolation (three floors, walls and ceilings) to provide sufficient vibration and acoustic isolation for the stages. As theatrical and broadcast stages are also part of KCS West, Inc.’s work, raised floors are provided throughout much of the building for flexibility with cables. The building is LEED Certified and utilizes an efficient stormwater management system, an indoor air quality program during construction, waterless urinals, and energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems.
The project consists of concrete spread footings, slab on grade, concrete over metal deck, exposed structural steel trusses at the 3rd floor Executive Office Level, and concealed ductwork with package units for the HVAC system.
This building is located on a major Hollywood studio campus.
